Lee Belshaw

Manager, Engineering

Lee Belshaw is the Engineering Manager at Waiward Industrial LP, leading the company’s structural steel connection design and fabrication engineering initiatives for industrial and infrastructure projects across Canada. He oversees engineering activities in accordance with CSA S16 and CSA W59 standards, supporting the successful delivery of complex steel fabrication projects.

With more than 25 years of structural engineering experience in both the United Kingdom and Canada, Lee brings extensive expertise in structural steel design and fabrication. Prior to joining Waiward in 2024, he held engineering roles with structural engineering and steel fabrication firms in England before relocating to Alberta, where he spent nearly 12 years in Western Canada’s structural steel fabrication industry.

Lee’s technical expertise includes seismic design, connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering. Throughout his career, he has contributed to a number of high-profile projects, including the Ladore Spillway Seismic Upgrade Project, the YVR Pier D Expansion, and the Coronation Park Velodrome, providing specialized engineering solutions in seismic, temporary works, and connection design.

A dedicated engineering professional, Lee holds Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designations with APEGA, APEGS, and Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC). He is also a CWB Approved Welding Engineer and successfully completed the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) Chartered Membership Examination in 2007.
